SWFObject Explained

What:
SWFObject is being called the most powerful tool in your arsenal for deploying Flash content to the web and devices.

SWFObject was created by… and can be downloaded from …. Go ahead and get it then we’ll talk more about it.

Why:
SEO, Alternate Content, Light weight JS which is just better for loading

Where:
in your html file that deploys your swf content

When: Should be used from here on out. Forget about using the Flash generated html. No sweat if your lazy just use the swfObject UI.

How:
The important parts to have.
Title
swobject.js
this code
var flashvars = {};
var params = {};
var attributes = {};
swfobject.embedSWF("digitus/AdaptvDigitus.swf", "myContent", "500", "400", "9.0.0", "expressInstall.swf", flashvars, params, attributes);

And your alternate content div

Thats all. No sweat and really simply.
Note there are two ways to deploy swfObject static and Dynamic. There really is no sense in using the static version as it defeats the powerful purpose of swfObject which is to allow for cross browser compatibly and the use of alternative content. The static version does provide alt content but it doesn’t work gracefully cross browser.

Happy Coding
