What is Interactivity?

Interactivity in my education has been defined as the intercommunication between one object or thing and another. It is a back and forth, call and response, action reaction that creates interactivity. Pressing a button on a remote control and getting the response of a new channel was once considered an interactive experience, however, today that has become a mindless activity. The remote control is still the basics of interactivity and always will be but its time we elevated to a level of greater complexity.

For me it is not enough to press a button on a mouse and say to someone this is an interactive experience. Decisions should be made, senses should be aroused and motors should be activated for a true sense of interactivity to be achieved. I will work on building out examples, prototypes & projects that explore the achievement of full virtual interactivity by digital means.

It is not enough for me to stare at a painting, not enough to sit and watch a movie, not enough to press buttons in order to play a game. I need full Immersion!
